REGISTER NOW: MARC SE-Africa webinar on the role of pharmaceutical and regulatory bodies in addressing drug-resistant malaria
Are you working on the topic of drug-resistant malaria in Africa and you’d like to hear more about the role of pharmaceutical and regulatory bodies in addressing the growing threat of antimalarial drug resistance?
Join our webinar where industry representatives will reflect on this topic, explore the gaps and challenges to a coordinated response, and recommend actionable strategies to overcome them.
Webinar: Unite for Action: The Critical Role of Pharmaceutical companies and regulators in Combating Antimalarial Drug Resistance
📅 Date: 1 September 2025, 14:00 – 15:00 CAT (UTC+02:00)
📍 Format: virtual
Why join?
After more than a decade of artemisinin-based combination therapy for treating malaria, artemisinin resistance is growing, resulting in slower parasite clearance and endangering the efficacy of treatment. With the growing antimalarial resistance, the stakes are high and innovative strategies and collaboration between different stakeholders are needed for combating malaria.
In this webinar, Dr Caroline Boulton (Novartis) will highlight the role of pharmaceutical bodies in addressing antimalarial drug resistance, while exploring key coordination challenges between the stakeholders. Dr Daniel Rosen (Maisha Meds) will narrow in on the challenges that limit the coordination between the pharmaceutical industry and other antimicrobial resistance (AMR) stakeholders and reflect on the implications of these gaps for the global AMR response.
Who should register?
Anyone interested in a coordinated response to antimalarial drug resistance. Participation will especially benefit people working on antimalarial drug resistance as part of:
ministries of health/government institutions
regional and national malaria control programmes
universities and research institutes
pharmaceutical industry
regulatory bodies
